All I wanted for Christmas this year was to bask in the glory of David Harbour of Stranger Things fame as a man-bunned, hammer-wielding Santa Claus who fights John Leguizamo as a man named Mr. Scrooge. Violent Night. With a new baby at home, however, I knew I wouldn’t be heading to the theater anytime soon.

So when I saw the movie was available to stream, I was stoked. (People don’t say that anymore, do they? I’m sorry.) Even better: the film boasts a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it reference to poetry, but I’ll be darned if I didn’t leap on it like Santa Claus on homemade cookies.
